Real-Life Demonstration on the Surface-Driven Capillary Flow in Microfluidic Devices

Abstract


In this research paper, glass and PMMA are chosen as materials to fabricate the microfluidic devices due to the optical transparency of these materials. The microfluidic devices are fabricated by the maskless lithography (non-contact lithography), hot embossing lithography (contact lithography), indirect bonding technique, and direct bonding technique. The surface-driven capillary flow is recorded corresponding to each microfluidic device by a CMOS camera. The colour-images are compared with the gray-scale-images for proper visualisation on any microfluidic flow. The comparison between colour-images and gray-scale-images is a novel approach in this research paper.
