The Roster of a Teacher’s Quality

Priyavrat Thareja

Abstract

The complexity of teaching process is realized as one attempts to consolidate the gains of experiences in quality management. Though considerable success has been achieved and reported by the production and/or service industry in terms of customer satisfaction, the educational process had hitherto remained neglected especially until 1990 plus. The process application and the success rate have been slow, primarily because of the large responsibility the teacher must share. The roster of the teacher thus gets continually enlarged towards standing to the critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements of the educational process. An attempt is made in the present paper to highlight some of the CTQ requirements and begin a process to understand their implications in the context of teaching process. The experiences gained from author’s teaching endeavors and QMS auditing involvements (for ISO 9001:2000 accreditation) in educational institutions have been integrated towards the development of this paper.
