System Integrity Analysis on the PMS Designed with the ALS Platform
Abstract
FPGA technology based ALS platform was designed by WEC as the next generation 1E class platform for protection and monitoring system development for nuclear power plants and had been approved by NRC in 2013. Based on the features of the platform and typical PMS function requirements, a new overall architecture based on ALS for PMS is designed and the consistency with system integrity requirements in SRP is analyzed. The evaluation indicates that the design meets the response time, determinism and self-diagnostics, test and calibration capabilities requirements.
