Comparative Study on Gi-Fi with Other Technologies

Rini Paul, Preema Theresa Varghese

Abstract

In today’s world, technology has changed from wired technology to wireless technology. By improving the recent technologies, it gives rise to a new technology that is Gi-Fi technology. Gi-Fi stands for gigabit wireless. It is a transceiver, which is integrated on a single chip that operates at 60 GHz on CMOS process. This wireless transmission system, is ten times faster than other technologies. In this technology, audio and video data can be transferred up to 5 Gbps, its range is almost 10 m and it consumes low power. It is a 5 mm square chip, it can access high broadband and large files can be exchanged within seconds with high speed. The advantage of this technology is that it is helpful in the development of new devices of next generation.
