A novel data re-modulation scheme with downstream. Differential phase shift keying (DPSK) signals and on-off keying (OOK) upstream signal modulation format is proposed for wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) – passive optical networks (PON) in the letter. A simulation on 5-Gb/s downstream optical DPSK signal and 5 Gb/s upstream optical OOK signal. 5Gb/S on DPSK OOK all are successfully demonstrated over 20-km single mode fiber without chromatic dispersion compensation. Keywords: Differential phase-shift keying (DPSK), on–off keying (OOK) modulation, passive optical network (PONs), wavelength - division multiplexing (WDM) Cite this Article Nidhi Agarwal, Deepak Bansal.
