With the progress in optical communication system, optical networks are demanding of all optical devices to improve the speed, power and to reduce the attenuation during transmission of signals. In this paper, execution of gray to binary code converter with the aid of semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) based Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is proposed, with the help of all-optical XOR logic gate, which is also demonstrated by using SOA-MZI, where CW laser or clock signal is also used as an additional input source. The nonlinear properties of SOA are used for designing of gray to binary code converter. The design is implemented with the help of Opti System software which is one of the powerful software for the analysis of optical systems. Circuits have been implemented successfully at 10 GB/s.
