This paper describes the detailed procedure for design and fabrication of rice huller machine. A rice huller or rice husker is an agricultural machine used to automate the process of removing the chaff (the outer husks) of grains of rice. Throughout history, there have been numerous techniques to hull rice. Traditionally, it would be pounded using some form of mortar and pestle. An early simple machine to do this is a rice pounder. Later even more efficient machinery was developed to hull and polish rice. The main objective of this paper is to design and fabricate such a machine which will be compact and less costly so that even a poor villagers are also able to use it. The set up has been designed as a simple mechanism which is easy to understand and use, instead of steel rollers, rubber rollers have been used in fabrications. First, rice is fed in hopper and it is passed through rollers which are rotating in opposite direction. Rollers are kept with a small clearance; when rice passes through it, rollers apply a pressure and outer husk is removed. The portable machine has been designed for small farmers to save their time and money. The capacity of machine can be increased by optimizing some parameters which will increase the efficiency and reduce the cost.
