Thermodynamic analysis of an ideal air-standard Atkinson cycle with variable specific heat is presented in this paper. The paper outlines the effect of specific heat of working fluid and peak temperature of the cycle on the performance of the cycle efficiency and work output. It showed significant effect on the performance of the cycle over the constant specific heat model. The results obtained from this work can be helpful in the thermodynamic modeling and in the evaluation of real Atkinson engines over other engines. Keywords: Specific Heat Ratio, Peak Temperature, Compression RatioDownloads
