This paper reviews studies on forced convection heat transfer through Porous media. In the last four decades we have seen enormous amount of research work related to the study of heat transfer in porous media. Convective flows in porous media are of vital importance to these processes, thereby generating the need for their full understanding. This review paper includes the effects of pore to throat size ratio, Non-Darcy and dispersion effects, flows with special geometric effects- the overall thermal conductivity of a porous medium depends in a complex fashion on the geometry of the medium, type of fluid, flows with special fluid types or property effects and flows. This review paper is useful to find out Nusselt number enhancement during forced convection heat transfer through porous media at various values of Reynolds number. Keywords: Heat transfer, Porous media, Boundary layers flow, Nusselt number enhancementCite this ArticleRajendra N.
