Review of Grid Scale Energy Storage Systems
Abstract
Utilization of battery energy storage systems (BESS) is a must for smart grids. The reason being the fact that the current power distribution system of electric grids produces vast amount of energy for marinating a power quality; thereby leading to the significant detachment of amount of energy consumed and that of produced. Thus, enhanced modelling for such storage system is required for efficient energy utilization and its subsequent monitoring. This study presents an outline of battery management system (BMS) which dictates the usage of energy storage system. By the deployment of such BMS the inefficiencies and waste in electric grids can be curbed. Keywords: Grid storage system, battery energy storage systems, control systems, electric gridCite this Article Archana Sahu, Uma Shankar Patel.
