This paper describes a PSO optimization algorithm for voltage stability study and its enhancement based on proximity and mechanism analysis. This theorem is implemented based on Gershgorin’s Circle Theorem. The control variables responsible for enhancing the voltage stability limit are generator bus voltages at PV buses, the taps of On-Load –Tap-Changing Transformer. (OLTC), change in reactive power etc. The objective function of proposed algorithm is to maximize the minimal diagonal entries of Reduced Jacobean matrix. This diagonal element of Reduced Jacobean Matrix is maximized within its upper and lower limit of voltages, load angle, line losses, line flows etc. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) has been used to get optimal solution. The developed algorithm has been implemented on IEEE-14 and IEEE-30 bus test system and compared the results with BBPSO method. The outcomes of PSO have proved the better effectiveness and easy way of finding the solution of optimization of proposed problem compared to BBPSO. The simulation for parameter optimization has been approved with computational tool like MATLAB10.
