Simulation of Single Phase AC-DC Power Factor Corrected Converter: A Technological Review
Abstract
This paper is intended to review the significant development of power factor correction by using boost converter topology for single phase power supply to the load in the last decay. Contents in this review paper starts with an introduction of power factor correction by boost converter topology adopted by many industries. Different power factor correction methods are available, which can be applied to get better power factor and low harmonic and get better power quality supply with high efficiency and low losses, are also discussed. Hysteresis control and average control both techniques are very efficient for the power factor correction. These techniques are a part of the current mode control technique in continuous conduction mode. This design consists of modification in simple and low cost so that it is easy to implement in any circuit. The simulation results of both the techniques are compared and simulatory design for prototype 100 W power output is also discussed. Keywords: PFC boost, hysteresis control, continuous conduction mode, average control, power quality, converterCite this Article Shah and Pandya.
