Power system stability is one of the most significant concerns in power system. Providing continuous supply of electric energy to meet the load demand is a complex technical challenge. One of the main causes of voltage instability in a system is the occurrence of reactive power imbalance in the system. Reactive power will be unbalanced when there is a sudden increase or decrease in reactive power demand in the system. For this reason, the system voltage is collapsed. One way to prevent the occurrence of voltage collapse is either to provide with an additional power supply of reactive power or reduce the reactive power load before the system reaches the point of voltage collapse. In order to get proper idea about power system stability, sensitivity analysis and critical line had been calculated. In this thesis, the simulation has executed through MATLAB. The reactive load has been increased upto 45% and at the conclusion stage, the most sensitive node has been analyzed. Specific protection scheme has been suggested too.
