Abstract

Stress concentration on implant or implant bone interface can cause relative microfracture at the interface between implant and bone, fracture of the implant, loosening or fracture of components of implant system and bone resorption so it is important to understand the stress distribution pattern for implant with different thread pattern as thread design can have a direct influence on the stress concentration. The study was conducted with the aim to determine pattern of stress distribution around implant with different types of thread designs and with objective of finding out the biomechanical behavior of implant threads which plays an important role on stresses at implant-bone interface.   Keywords: Stress concentration, stress distribution, thread designs, implant stress analysis, finite element analysisCite this Article Darshit Doshi, Paresh Gandhi, Ajay Sabane et al.
