Growth and Trends of Research Output of Life Science
Resumé
Research has achieved significance and as an imperative means for advancement and development. The research output is an essential part of an institution’s appraise and evaluation of research quality. This study was an endeavor to find out the total research contribution and the trends of research in the different department of faculty of bioscience, university of Kashmir from its inception till 2013. The study also analyzes contributions in terms of collaborations at local, national and International level and to trace research trends in various fields. The Scopus database instead of is used to carry out to divulge research contributions in the field of biological sciences university of Kashmir. A total of 255 publications were investigated. The cumulative annual growth rate of the zoology (8.331%) is highest followed by biotechnology (6.675%), environment science (6.420%), pharma science (6.118%), botany (4.785%), biochemistry (4.636%) and home science (2.600%).
