Abstract

Ensuring the Quality to First Time Right (FTR) as professed by Philips Crosby is necessity of today’s rapidly growing manufacturing dependent society. But while maintaining the pace of manufacturing one should ensure the limits of undesired by-products [1] which adversely cause the environment to diminish. The conceptual phenomenon of FTR increases the boundaries of six sigma in order to claim the defects to the level of Zero from 3.4 PPM. Presently an exertion is made to cater the holistic customer requirements with the promotion of First Time Right philosophy. A quality tool known as Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is used to fulfil requirements of customers. Various stated and unstated requirements by customers’ are tried to enumerate in VOC (Voice of Customer) to harness VOP (Voice of Process) accordingly. Keywords: Quality, D-M-A-I-C, First Time Right (FTR), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Voice of customer (VOC), Voice of Process (VOP)
