Lining Pains & lance Strains - A Case Study to Competing Productivity

The competitiveness of Indian steel is subject to efficient running of each and every system. Any endeavour to value enhancement is predominantly seen to be a slave of effective human practices. This paper concentrates on the lance life for an LD steel converter. This paper develops the basics of parameters essential to control lining and lance life. It was observed that the two behaved dichotomously. That is one improved at the cost of another. Consequently as an impact of work it was considered necessary to ensure that the lining life was not adversely threatened. This paper demonstrates as to how small considerations like cleaning of lance can improve the lance life by avoiding building up of sculling over the lance material. While the initial thin build up is protective, any further thickening leads to a heavy lance, and blockage of lance tip, hindering oxygen flow. The paper also stipulated as a potent solution the use of a multipurpose lance. Keywords: LD converter, Lance/Lining lifePublikováno
