A Real Time Authentication Framework Using Multi-Model Biometrics

Sneha Kurhekar, Harshvardhan Upadhyay

Abstract

Online signature as well as finger print verification system is one of the most reliable, fast and cost effective tool  for the user authentication. This work examines the implementation of the embedded system for the online signature as well as finger print verification based on field programmable gate arrays. The work describes the complete biometric algorithm for signature and finger print verification based on three stages. Both the inputs are normalized by means of preprocessing. Subsequently, the captured images are aligned with its template by applying DTW algorithm. Finally, these aligned images are extracted and used as input to HMM model, whose output is used to confirm the user’s identity. This work establishes a real time authentication framework using multi-model biometrics which consists of the embedded system based on FPGA to verify the signatures and fingerprint.
