Biography

Dr. Tapas Kumar Basak is at present Professor in EE Department of NIT Agartala. He received his Ph.D Degree in Engineering from Jadavpur University in 1992 and earned his postdoctoral from university of Genoa, Italy. Then he worked as a Professor in Jadavpur University for 16 Years. He is having more than 35 Years of Experience in the field of Bio medical Science his Area of Expertise includes Bio medical Instrumentation, Material Science and computational physiology. He is the author of three Books. He received UNESCO award as a third world scientist from ICTP in 1985.

Dr. Ali Mohamed Eltamaly is a Professor in the Sustainable Energy Technology Center Department of Electrical Engineering at the King Saud University. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2000. He was a faculty member in the College of Engineering, Minia and Mansoura universities, Egypt, from 1993 to 2005. He joined Electrical Engineering Department, and Sustainable Energy Technologies Center, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia since from 2005 till now. His current research interests include renewable energy, power electronics, motor drives, power quality, and smart control. He has supervised a number of M.S. and PhD theses, worked on number of technical projects and published four books, many book chapters and more than 100 papers.

Dr. Vineeta Agarwal is a Professor in the. Department of Electrical Engineering .at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad. She/he received his/her Ph.D.Degree in Electrical Engineering.. from Allahabad.. University in 19.3. She joined as lecturer in 1982 in Electrical Engineering Department in M. N. R. Engineering College and since then she has been teaching in the same college. She is having 32. Years of Experience in the field of Power Electronics. Her Area of Expertise includes: Resonant Converters, High Frequency Converters and Machines, Single-Phase to Three Phase onversion. She/he is the author of two books: 1 Power Electronics, co-Authored by Dr. Krishna, BPB Publications 2. Electric Drive Agarwal Publishers

Dr. Amit Shrivastava is a HOD and an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the JECRC University. His research qualifications are B.E. (Electrical Engineering), M.E. (I.S.D.), Ph.D. His research areas/ area of specialization constitute, Condition monitoring of induction motor, Energy Auditing and Conservation.

Dr. Ashok S, Professor in Electrical Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology Calicut, received Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College Calicut. Dr. Ashok completed M.Tech in Energy from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has industrial work experience in L&T HT Switchgear Division, ALIND Ltd and Reserve Bank of India before joining Regional Engineering College Calicut. He received specialization in Power and Energy Systems. Hus research interest includes Peak Load Management, Energy Management, Energy Modelling, Renewable Energy, Harmonics and Power Quality, Regulatory Economics, Switchgear and Protection, Illumination Engineering. He held in membership in various bodies including Senior Member - IEEE inc. USA (40187981), Secretary, IEEE Power Engg. Dr. Bahniman Ghosh is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at I. I. T Kanpur. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. His research areas include Spintronic, Device and circuit simulations of novel devices, Photovoltaic systems, VLSI technology including analog/mixed signal circuit design, Optimization of analog/RF circuits.

Dr. Bidyadhar Subudhi is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at NIT Rourkela. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Sheffield followed by Postdoctoral from NUS Singapore. He joined the Institute in 2006 having experience of total 10 years till date. His area of research experience includes System and Control Theory, Control Applications to Power System, Active Noise and Vibration Control, Control Application to Robotics, Control Applications in Automotive Engineering, Applications in Process Control and Networked Control System. Dr. Han Yang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Power Electronics, School of Mechatronics Engineering, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China. He has 12 years of rich experience in the field of Power Electronics. His scientific research contribution includes Research Directions, Research Chair and various Research Experiences. The undergraduates teaching courses taught by him are "Electrical Engineering Base", "Introduction to Electric Power Systems", "Engineering Control", "Power Electronics Technology", "New Energy Technology" and Postgraduate Course "Smart Grid Technology". He is the recipient of noval awards such as; Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics HVDC Professional Committee 2013 Annual Conference "Outstanding Paper Award", the paper entitled: Manufacturing Enterprise 10 / 0.4kV harmonic pollution impact load distribution network and its control measures ; Study 2010 by the China Machinery industry Science and technology Award "prize" winning projects: low voltage distribution grid power quality and improve research and application of energy saving measures; 2008 won the fourth power quality (international) Symposium "outstanding paper Award"; 2007 was awarded the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology achievements completion certificate output items: dynamic reactive power compensation and harmonic control (active filter) integrated devices. Dr. Mahendra Lalwani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University College of Engineering, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, Rajasthan, India.

Dr. P. Sanjeevikumar worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at IFET College of Engineering, Tamilnadu, India (2002–2004, 2006–2007). Also he worked as Manager Training from at Edutech LLC, Dubai, Middle East, UAE (July 2007 to December 2007), further he was assigned as Project Head for research project work and R& D solutions with Simulation Solutions (Ohm Technologies), Chennai, India (January 2008 to December 2008). From August 2012 to May 2013 he was employed as Associate Professor with the school of Electrical Engineering, VIT University, Chennai, India. Also he has been employed as Assistant Professor with Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT-Puducherry, An Institute of National Importance by Government of India) from July 2013 to December 2013. Currently he is on Research Assignment as Visiting Research Fellow with Department of Electrical Engineering, Qatar University, Doha, Qatar from January 2014 to February 2014. He has published paper in the area of his research interest Power Electronics and Drives in National, International Conference and Journal.

Dr. P. Saravanan is HOD/ Associate Professor in Jai Shriram Group of Institutions, Tirupur. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Power Quality Improvement (August 2014) having a rich 10.5 years of experience in the field of Power Electronics. His area of expertise includes Control Systems, ASIC Design, Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility in System Design, Advanced Digital System Design, Digital Electronics, Circuit Theory, Network Analysis and Synthesis, Electrical Machines, Measurement and Instruments, High Performance Computer Networks, Power Quality Engineering, Electrical Engineering. He has published various articles in journals (National as well as International) and presented papers in many conferences and symposiums. He is also an organizer of various conferences, workshops, seminars etc. He is a renowned member in professional bodies i.e., IAENG and The Society of Digital Information and Wireless Communications.

Dr. Parimal Acharjee is an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NITD), India. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline from Jadavpur University in 2007. He has three years Industrial Experience and 13 years teaching experience. He continued his teaching profession in MCKVIE Howrah, BPPIMT - Kolkata, NIT Silchar, NIT Durgapur, India. He conducted AICTE and TEQIP sponsored different courses, gave invitee talks to different engineering colleges, chaired national & international conferences. He is the author of “Non-conventional approaches for Solving Constraint Power Flow Problems”. He also reviewed many books. He is awarded scholarship from UGC, recipient of research funding for ‘Young Scientist under DST Fast Track scheme’ and ‘DST FIST’. He also received prestigious Indo-US Research Fellowship. His Area of Expertise includes: the application of soft-computing techniques in various power system problems, Renewable Energy, FACTS Devices, and Smart Grid etc.

Dr. R. K. Pandey is a Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi, India. He obtained his Ph. D degree from IIT Kanpur. His areas of research interest include EHV AC & DC Transmission, FACTS Controllers Design and Analysis, Integrated Large Power System Operation and Control, Intelligent Grid Control, High Voltage DC Transmission Technology, Electricity Policy and Planning, Distribution System Planning and Automation and Distributed Energy Resources & Management.

Dr. Rohit Bhakar is a Prize Fellow in the Energy Demand Reduction. His research is in smart systems, energy storage and electricity markets, combining technology innovation, economic and financial factors, behaviour change and regulation, and targeting energy efficiency and lower energy use from carbon based generation. Dr. Rohit Bhakar attained his B.E. Degree in Electrical Engineering from M.B.M. Engineering College, Jodhpur; his M.Tech degree in Power System Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, and his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Before joining the University of Bath, Dr. Bhakar worked with the Rajasthan State Electricity Board and as an Assistant Professor with the Malaviya National Institute of Technology. Dr. Bhakar has expertise in power system restructuring and economics, electricity markets, risk management, energy storage planning, network pricing, wind forecasting, smart grid pricing, low carbon policy, game theory, uncertainty modelling and statistical analysis. He has held multiple research grants from Indian research agencies for the development of transmission and distribution network pricing, as well as from India-UK Consortium on Smart Energy Grids and Energy Storage Technologies.

Dr. Seyed Feraydune Kashefi is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Khavaran Higher-education Institute, Mashad, Iran. He received his Ph.D. degree (1999) in Electrical Engineering, from University of Texas at Dallas. He is having 13 years of rich experience in the field of Electrical Engineering. His area of expertise includes Silicon processing, Device physics, IR spectroscopy, Micro controller RF, Optical study of biological tissue non-invasive, Medical applications and imaging of near-infrared (NIR) techniques, Nanotechnology and Nano-biotechnology, Telecom system and network engineer, Broadband network design and architecture, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Network management and security, Mainframe, data center and database, Knowledge of Civil Engineering methods and design, Project/program management, Analysis, summarization and reporting of technical data. He is the author of various selected publications, reports to conferences and recipient of awards listed as Listing in Who's Who in Engineering Education, 2002 till present, Nortel Network President’s Gold Award for outstanding level of innovation and technical excellence, 1999 and UT Southwestern Award for excellence in programming, 1985.

Dr. Uwe Kruger is an Associate Professor in the Petroleum Institute, Department of Electrical Engineering, at Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr Kruger graduated from the University of Essen, Germany, with a Degree in Mechatronics in 1996. After completing his doctoral thesis in the area of Control Engineering in 2000, he worked as a Research Associate in Process Systems Engineering at the University of Newcastle, U.K. Dr Kruger also held a tenure-track faculty position in Intelligent Systems and Control at Queen’s University, U.K., between 2001 and 2007. He also obtained a Diploma in Management Science from the University of Manchester in 1998 and a Postgraduate Certification in Higher Education Teaching (PGCHET) from Queen’s University in 2005. Dr. Kruger’s research output includes over 40 journal articles that are published or pending publication, 2 patents, 5 book chapters, over 50 conference and workshop contributions and one research text on process monitoring, control and safety that is expected to be published in 2010 by John Wiley & Sons. He has graduated 5 Ph.D students between 2004 and 2009 and currently supervises three Ph.D. students and five MS students in Control Engineering. He owns a Professional Membership as a Fellow, Higher Education Academy (HEA), U.K and Member, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (MIEEE). Dr. Vijayakumar Krishnasamy is an Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. His areas of specialization are Industrial Electronics and Control, Smart Grid, Power Electronics and Electrical Machines, FACTS Controllers, Artificial Intelligence, Power Conversion Techniques for Wind & PV. His brief research profile includes; secured All India Rank 358 in GATE and was a recipient of Ph.D. fellowship from MHRD, Govt. of India; Selected for Canadian Commonwealth Fellowship-GSEP at University of Saskatchewan, Canada during his Ph.D. He developed and fabricated the DSP based power electronic controller for renewable energy systems. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at NTU, Singapore where he worked on development of power converters for DGs in smart grid. POSOCO 2014 Awardee for Doctoral category and was listed in top 10. Dr. Yog Raj Sood received B.Sc. degree in Non-Medical from Govt. College for Men, Chandigarh, in 1980, B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, in 1984 M.E. degree in electrical engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in 1987 and Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India in 2003. He joined NIT Hamirpur (formerly known as REC Hamirpur) in year 1991. Currently he is working as Professor in department of electrical engineering, National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, India. His research interests include Deregulated Power Sector, Congestion Management. Dr. Yog Raj Sood was awarded as the Union Ministry of Energy- Department of Power Prize, by the Institution of Engineers (India) for publication of one of the research paper in the journal of Institution of Engineers. He was honored with the degree of excellence in Education by The Director General, International Biographical Centre (IBC), Cambridge, England in August 3, 2007. He was awarded session’s best paper certificate for the paper titled Renewable Energy Development in Indian Deregulated Power Market: Future Aspects, presented in 2nd International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology (ICETET' 2014) organized by International Institute of Engineers, May 30-31, 2014, London (U.K.). He was also awarded, Bharat Shiksha Ratan Award by Global Society for Health and Education Growth.
