Biography

Dr. Arijit Chaudhuri is an Honorary Visiting Professor in Applied Statistics Unit of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). He obtained his Ph. D. degree in Statistics from Calcutta University in 1972 and earned his 2-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship from University of Sydney, Australia. He worked as a Professor during 1 January, 1982 through 31 August, 2002 and priorly as an Associate Professor in ISI since 1 March, 1977 and as a Lecturer in Statistics in Calcutta University since 1 February, 1968. He served 3 years as a CSIR Emeritus Scientist in ISI during 1 September, 2002 through 31 August, 2005. He has been publishing in peer-reviewed journals since 1968 till date on Survey Sampling. He is an author/co-author of about 125 research papers and so far 8 monographs & Text Books on Sampling including “Modern Survey Sampling” published in June, 2014 by CRC Press, USA.

Dr. Somanath Bagh is a Professor in the P.G. Department of STATISTICS at the University of SAMBALPUR, ODISHA. He received his Ph.D. Degree in STATISTICS from SAMBALPUR University in 1991 and earned his postdoctoral from university of ULSTER, UK . Then worked as a Faculty in SAMBALPUR Institute/University for 35 Years. He is having about 35 Years of Experience in the field of STATISTICS his Area of Expertise includes: Probability Theory & its Applications, Stochastic Processes & Data Analysis he is the author of about 32 research papers & two books. recipient of Commonwealth award, INSA visiting Fellow, Visiting Fellow to Abo Akademy Univ., Finland etc.

Dr. Satyanshu Kumar Upadhyay is a Professor in the Department of Statistics at Banaras Hindu University. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Statistics from Banaras Hindu University in 1984 and earned his postdoctoral research bursary from Imperial College, London. He is having 32 Years of teaching experience in the subject Statistics. His Area of Expertise includes: Statistical Reliability, Bayesian Inference, Stochastic simulation, etc. He is author of nearly 75 papers published in different national and international journals, edited two books and got several other publications to his credit. He is recipient of EEC research bursary during 1992-93 and got several awards and recognitions.

Dr. Balkishan Sharma has been assigned with the duties of an Associate Professor (Bio-Statistics) in the Department of Community Medicine at Sri Aurobindo Medical College and P. G. Institute, Indore (M. P.), India. He has been also associated with the Medical research society as a member of Institutional Research Committee of the same institute by helping in the research projects taken by the institute with sound and scientific statistical grounds. He is having 25 years of vast experience in the field of teaching which involves teaching, administration and statistical applications and techniques. Guiding projects to the students of Ph. D., M. Ch., M. D./M. S., MBBS, DNB, MPT, M Sc (Nursing), Audiology and other post graduate level courses. He is honored with the I–Rank in the University examination-1995 for scoring highest marks in Master of Statistics (M. Sc. Gold medalist) examination and awarded Ph. D. degree by Vikram University, Ujjain. He has also attended and presented papers at various forums both National & International levels.

Dr. S. Sampath is currently holding the position of Professor of Statistics in the University of Madras, Chennai, India. He got his Ph.D. degree from the University of Madras. He has served in Loyola College, Chennai and Birla Institute of Science and Technology, Dubai, UAE before joining University of Madras in 2008. He has more than 30 years experience in teaching and research. He has guided many scholars for their research degrees and currently six are working for their Ph.D. degree under his guidance. His main areas of research are Inference for Finite Populations, Classical Statistical Inference, and Data Mining. He has to his credit more than 40 research articles in highly rated research journals. His book titled “Sampling Theory and Methods” published by CRC Press and Narosha Publishing house is a popular book in the academic circles.

Dr. Vishnu Narayan Mishra is an Asst. Professor in the Applied Mathematics & Humanities Department at the S.V. National Institute of Technology, Surat Gujarat He received his Ph.D. Degree in Mathematics from IIT Roorkee in 2007. Then worked as an Asst. Prof. of Maths in SVNIT, Surat for 8Years+. He is having 8 Years+ of Experience in the field of Maths, Approximation Theory. His Area of Expertise includes: Approximation Theory, Integral equations, Fractional calculus, Fixed point theory and applications, Nonlinear analysis, Fourier approximation, Variational inequality etc. He is the author of more than 100 research articles, recipient of many Grants, awards etc.
