Biography

Dr. Pravin U. Singare completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (1994), Masters Degree in Inorganic Chemistry (1997) and Ph.D. (Chemistry) from University of Mumbai (1999). He is having 10 years of Industrial experience in Process Development and Research related to synthesis, recycling of industrial grade homogeneous catalysts and concentration of multimetal sulfide ore by froth flotation technique and subsequent analysis by various instrumental methods. He joined Bhavan’s college as a Lecturer in Department of Chemistry in February, 2004, and at present working as an Assistant Professor in Physical & Analytical Chemistry. He is approved research guide of University of Mumbai, JJT University and Pacific University Rajasthan, for M.Sc. (By Research) and Ph.D. He guided 15 students for M.Phil. Degrees in Chemistry from Madurai Kamraj and Allagappa University and 03 Ph.D students from JJT University, Rajasthan. At present 03 students are working for their M.Sc. and 07 students for Ph.D. degree under his guidance. He has presented 50 research papers in various National and International conferences. He is having 187 research papers in various referred National and International Chemical Journals. His research areas of interest are synthesis and regeneration of Homogeneous catalyst, Radio analytical applications, Nuclear Chemistry, Ion exchange techniques, Polymer degradation studies, Environmental analysis, Trace elemental analysis in medicinal plants and Hydrometallurgy. His research work on environmental pollution due to toxic heavy metals was appreciated by The American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science. The article on one of his research work was press released by EurekAlert! A Global News Service operated by AAAS on 08th August, 2011 and Times of India, Mumbai Edition on 10th August, 2011. He is the member of Indian Society of Analytical Scientists, National Association for Application of Radio Isotopes and Radiation in Industry (NAARI), Indian Nuclear Society (INS), and Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists & Allied Scientists (IANCAS) all from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, (B.A.R.C.), Anushaktinagar, Mumbai, and Indian Council of Chemists (ICC), Agra, India. His credentials have earned a place in 2009, 26th edition of MARQUIS WHO’s WHO IN THE WORLD, USA. He was also awarded with the title IBC Top 100 Scientist 2009, by The International Biographical Centre, St Thomas' Place, ELY, Cambridgeshire, CB7 4GG, Great Britain. He is also on the Editorial Board of Journal Interdisciplinary Environmental Review, published by Inderscience Publishers Ltd. UK, International Letters of Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Polland, International Letters of Natural Sciences, Polland Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Technology, India.

Dr.Rakesh Kumar is an Asst. Professor in the Applied Chemistry Department of BIT Patna.at the University of BIT Mesra, Ranchi. He received his Ph.D.Degree in Polymer Chemistry from IIT Delhi in 2006. and earned his/her postdoctoral from university of Wuhan, China. Then worked as a Senior Researcher in CSIR Institute for 3 Years. He is having 10 Years of Experience in the field of Polymer Chemistry. His Area of Expertise includes: Biopolymers, Biocomposites, Nanobiocomposites. He is the author of around 40 peer reviewed papers and 3 books, recipient of UGC Grants.

Dr. Gopal Das is a Professor in the Chemistry Department of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). He received his Ph.D. Degree in Supramolecular Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) in 1999 and earned his postdoctoral from university of Geneva, Switzerland. Then he worked as a Professor in the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) for 10 Years. He is having 15 Years of Experience in the field of Chemistry. His Area of Expertise includes: Supramolecular Chemistry and Chemical Biology He is the author of more than 125 research papers and one book chapters. He has received the author of the "Most Requested Journal Article" in 2004 by Chemical Abstract Services (CAS), USA and American Chemical Society (ACS), Fellow of Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) from Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and several research grants from CSIR, DST and SERB.

Dr. M. S. Mohy Eldin is a Professor in the Polymer Materials Research Department of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research Institute at the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, Alexandria, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Enzyme Immobilization on biomaterials from Wageningen University, The Netherlands in 1999 and earned his postdoctoral from FAL, Braunschweig , Germany. Then worked as a Researcher in Advanced Technology and New Materials Research Institute at the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, Alexandria, Egypt for 14 Years. He is having 25 Years of Experience in the field of polymers preparation, characterization and applications. His Area of Expertise includes: Hydrogels, composites, membranes and nano-polymers. He is the author of 88 publications, recipient of FP6 and national Grants and awards of scientific achievements for five consecutive years from 2009 to 2014.

Dr. P.C. Thapliyal is Principal Scientist and Associate Professor in the Organic Building Materials Group of the CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from Delhi University in 1994 and earned his postdoctoral from University of Delhi. Then worked as a Assistant Professor in Delhi University for four Years. He is having twenty Years of Experience in the field of materials. His Area of Expertise includes: Building Materials, Synthesis, Polymers, Nanomaterials, Paints, Coatings, and Pigments etc. He is the author of more than fifty research papers, recipient of Best Paper Awards, Technology Transfer awards etc. and Technical Member in number of Professional Bodies.

Dr. Subhendu Sekhar Bag was born in 1975 at Tikarpara, Bankura, West Bengal, India. He received his B.Sc. degree from the University of Burdwan, India, in 1995 and his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, in 1998. He is the recipient of National Scholarship for his outstanding record in B. Sc. and also the Institute Silver Medal for his 1st position in M.Sc. He completed his Ph. D. in 2005 from the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He served Shibpur Dinobundhoo Institution (College), Howrah, India as a Lecturer of Chemistry for about two years and then joined in Nihon University, Japan as a JSPS Fellow. In 2008, he joined the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, Assam, India, as an Assistant Professor and started his research on functional nucleic acid chemistry and peptide chemistry. His research group is actively involved in Expanding the Genetic Alphabet which includes design of unnatural-fluorescent nucleoside pairs held by hydrophobic/charge transfer forces. On the other hand we are simultaneously engaged in the design of solvatochromic fluorescent unnatural amino acids toward Expanding the Genetic Code and searching for pharmacologically viable Peptidomimetic Therapeutics. In these research activities “Click reaction/chemistry” is associated as a key step which introduces triazole unit with high metabolic stability, associability with biological targets and ability to modulate electronic/photophysical properties. He is now working as an Associate Professor and published 45 international journal papers. He has supervised 2 Ph.D. and 5 Master students till the date. He is the recipient of several awards. He is associated with several academes and societies including (i) Editorial Board Member of (a) Biological and Biomedical Reports, TCH International Publication, (b) STM Journals, (c) World Research Journal of Chemistry, Bioinfopublication and (ii) Member of (a) Indian Chemical Society, (b) Chemical Research Society of India, (c) Chemical Society of Japan, and (d) Alumni of JSPS. He also served as a Lead Guest Editor, Special Issue, Journal of Nucleic Acids, Sage-Hindawi Publications. He has designed two web-based courses on Bioorganic Chemistry under NPTEL scheme of Government of India. He has also contributed a chapter in a book published by John Wiley and Sons.
